David Neely: guitar/vocals
Danmerle Capati: keyboards/guitar
Nik Daubert: bass
Stanley Hardjadinata: drums
What:
Think the hook-heavy pop and eternally good disposition of the Beatles in an indie haze, laced with the alterna-rock of the Strokes.
Where:
Honolulu, Hawaii
Featured song:
"Arrivals and Departures" from The Construction
(2005)
The name alone conjures up a string of memorable moments. Being at an airport, leaving someone (or being left) for perhaps the last time. Then listening to the driving rhythm of the song, it keeps you in that state of mind. Pulling you from the end of one thing to the start of the next, ready or not. Although most fans wouldn’t guess it, the real story behind the lyrics is about unplanned pregnancy, and the deadbeat dads that jump ship without conscience when they find out what’s on the way.
