Hehehe...Business skills. Cooking skills (most musicians don't eat right). Computer skills (we record everything on Macs these days — don't miss the ADATs at all).
Best thing about being in a band:
In my case, it helps me become more well-rounded socially. My bandmates prevent me from retreating into my own shell. They are sorta like friends in the psych ward.
Current favorite music gear:
At the moment, my favorite piece of gear is this cheap knockoff of an old RCA ribbon microphone. Most vocalists have a favorite mic to sing into, and that is mine. It's warm-sounding, EQ-friendly, and ridiculously cheap. Now if only I could afford a nice preamp...
