We did this show in Charleston, SC last February. The weather was horrendous, we rolled in an hour and a half late, and we were super-tired after being in the van all day. We get to the venue and discover that it's basically a strip-mall steakhouse. Then we find out that we're opening for a local disco-funk cover band called HOT SAUCE. At this point we were ready to back out and just go get a motel and watch TV, but the guy at the venue wouldn't let us go and kept offering us more and more money to play. At some point he offered an amount we didn't feel right turning down, so we did end up playing...while people were having dinner and chewing their food. Of course people didn't put their forks down to clap but we did have one fan: Some drunk guy came to the front and kept harassing our violinist, Carrie, throughout the set. So that was fun.
